Marrs Meyer American Legion Post #991 provides holiday food and toy baskets to Worth families in need

District 127 Teachers:

Please share your stories of the creative ways in which you used the gift card to brighten the school year.  

Thanks to a generous donation to our  baskets fund, we were able to provide each teacher in District 127 a $100 gift card to be used toward their classroom

Since 1919, the American Legion Auxiliary has been serving, helping, and meeting the needs of our nation’s veterans, military, and their families—both here and abroad. 

 Auxiliary meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm

(September - June) 

What We Do:

Nationwide, our members annually average

  • Helping nearly 3 million veterans
  • Contributing $36 million toward veterans and military families
  • Volunteering 9.3 million hours to support veterans programs
  • Contributing more than $2 million to programs benefitting children and youth
  • Volunteering 630,000 hours for active-duty military

We are asking for your help toward this successful and worthwhile project. Every year we serve our Worth neighbors entirely through donations of food, toys, and gift cards from businesses and individuals throughout the community. We hope we can count on your support to assist us this year. 

All donations of toys, non-perishable food, and money are greatly appreciated and are tax-deductible. Eligible families receive food in November for Thanksgiving, and a basket of food, toys, cleaning supplies and personal items in December for Christmas.
